Eyecatchers – its spring already??

Early SpringLast weekend we experienced all-time highs for temperatures in March.  Minnesotan’s will come out in shorts on the first 40 degree day of the season.  So when temperatures hit over 80 degrees last weekend… well imagine sunbathers on the shores of lakes still partially frozen over and you get the idea.  You could tell just how nice it was by all the fresh sunburns.

So it’s spring.  The great thing about early spring is that you get to go out and enjoy the deck without the worry of being bitten by mosquitos.  I guess I missed that day, I can’t believe there’s mosquitos out already.  I’m hopeful the warm weather will cause them all to hatch and come out, then we’ll get another couple days of weather under the freezing point and they’ll all die.  That’s the optimistic side of my personality, maybe the sadistic side too.

In real estate there were a couple postings that caught my eye.  The first was news that the market was up due to more sellers willing to reduce the price of their listings (click here).  While I’m not in disagreement that this sort of pricing strategy may be helping increase activity, what I’m seeing is more of a “last chance to get a great deal” mentality and more buyers jumping into the realization that the curve is moving back up and if sellers want to take part they need to be priced competitively.
